I have just added the Amoena Energy Breast Forms to the range. These provide the highest level of temperature control of any Amoena forms, and contain a number of unique features to help manage your body temperature.
Trulife have just introduced a new version of their Connect (self Adhesive) breast form. I have not yet seen a sample, but the literature seems to indicate it is a big improvement on their last effort. Perhaps a serious contender for the Amoena Contact range.
I will let you know as soon as I have had a closer look.
Breast forms (also know as a Prosthesis) come in many shapes and sizes, this article provides a brief overview of the different shapes.
Triangular Breast Forms
These are the most popular shape of breast form. Although breasts are not triangular in shape, these forms do a great job at mimicking the shape of a breast, particularly when supported by a good bra.
They are symmetrical and so can be worn on either side of the chest. This can make them a little bit cheaper as the manufacturers do not have to make specific left and right models.
Asymmetrical Breast Forms
The forms have a slight "tail" on the lower part of the form. They are designed for ladies who have had some breast tissue removed from under the arm. As the tail is either on the left or right, you need to make sure you buy the one for the correct side of your chest.
The tail can cause problems with some underwired bras, so you should be professionally measured or wear a soft cup bra.
Teardrop Breast Forms
These used to be very popular, but are less so these days. They an extended tail which can be worn either to the side (to provide fullness under the arms) or upwards to provide fullness in the upper cup.
However, it is very difficult to find a bra that will accommodate and conceal a breast form of this shape.
Heart Shaped (La Coeur) Breast Forms
These heart shaped forms are relatively new. They have one side of them which is quite flat. This is great if you want to wear them with a low cut swim suit. They also work really well with underwired bras if the are worn rotated by 45' (so the flatter edge is towards your decolletage).
I hope that helps a little with your breast form shopping.
